3 Easy Ways to Dye Eggs

Want to spruce up your Easter eggs this year? Here are three twists on traditional dyed eggs, all using our Natural Easter Egg Dyes. Since the dyes are vegetable-based, you can hunt for your egg and eat it too! These techniques are simple enough for even the youngest children to try. Before you begin, hard-boil your eggs (white eggs will give you the most impressive results).

1. Marbled Eggs

Add a teaspoon of vegetable oil to each dye after it’s mixed, then dye your eggs as usual to create this unique marbled effect.

2. Wax Resist Eggs

Color on your egg with crayons (try our Stockmar Wax Crayons) before dying to create these fun patterned eggs. If you want to remove the wax after dying, you can warm the egg slightly in the microwave or oven to soften the wax, then rub it off with a cloth or paper towel.

3. Striped Eggs

For bold, striped eggs, wrap eggs tightly with rubber bands and then dye. Tip: pat egg dry before removing rubber bands to prevent dye from seeping onto the white stripes. If you’re looking for a nice way to display your eggs, our Decorative Egg Holder, shown above, does a lovely job.
